Mothers Day Gift Baskets do not have to be expensive gourmet gifts. If you make one yourself, it can be as inexpensive as you need it to be and you can make your mother feel special by personalising it for her. Not to mention you will have so much fun during the creative process.
Themes are very important when creating mothers day gift baskets. They give you a starting point and sort of help everything come together. First, you will want to brainstorm and think about what it is that your mum really likes. See if you can come up with a theme for your basket and go with that. You don’t necessarily have to use a basket you can use any container that might go with the theme or decorate a container to meet your needs. You can use a bucket, hamper, shoe box, etc. You can put items inside that go with the theme as well. It is really up to you. If you are having trouble coming up with ideas do some research online and look at what others are doing.
To give you an idea, I’ll share with you what I did for my mother this year. My mother is really into playing bingo. I took an old plastic hamper that I had lying around and I painted it. It was a solid hamper not one with holes in it. My mother loves bingo so I painted some bingo balls on the outside. Then, on the inside of the basket I put items inside that went with the bingo theme. I made the crinkle with old bingo cards. Then I threw in about 10 daubers in various colors and sizes. I threw in a gift certificate to her favorite bingo hall as well as a new bingo bag for her to carry her daubers in. I threw in some candy and snacks that she could take with her to the bingo hall and I even made her some home made cookies shaped like bingo balls. It was a lot of fun and my mum got a big kick out of it. The whole thing cost me less than $50 to make compared to the $150 I would have probably paid a company to assemble and deliver a generic basket to her. So if you feel like saving some money and having a little fan with your mum’s gift. Go the do it yourself route and make your mum a personalised basket this year.
